I wanted to get the word out about our short-term mission trip to the Czech Republic (CR). Yes, it’s here! We leave on Tuesday, August 14th – the day after tomorrow. For many of you who either travel a lot, or, have been to a number of “mission” trips, this may not seem like such a big deal, but for our small church, it’s been HUGE. In what way, you might ask? Glad you asked! Hhere is why our 11-member trip to the CR is “HUGE”. . .
– It’s huge because many of you have been incredibly generous in supporting us. Whether you are a regular attender/worshipper/member, or, just a friend of the church, many people hav supported us with your prayers and finances. Thank You!
– It’s huge because we’ve never taught English in a foreign country before. Each team member is a bit nervous, excited, but mostly grateful. WE are putting ourselves at the mercy of our good God and our CR hosts.
– It’s huge because our church has never sent out a team of this size before. The way that God has worked to recruit the team, support the team, and bring us together has been a fun thing to watch.
There are other things I could share, but the big thing coming to my mind is gratitude. I am grateful for each team member (most of my, my daughter who will be coming with me!), our supporters, and of course, our Good God. May you use us God, for your good pleasure!
I’ll write more, Lord-willing, while we are on the trip. “See you” then!
